Your Valentines Date is A Hot Knight For the Cold Winter Nights

Happy Valentine’s Day Beautiful friends!

It’s been a while since we had a chat and what better night to pick up again than Valentine’s Day? This month’s book boyfriend is a decadent treat to keep your heart pounding and your teeth from chattering. He’s dark. He’s tall. He’s sexy. He’s got lots of different powers… and he’s the hero of Shadow Leitner‘s  soon to come, Dawn of Knight. Welcome Julian Knight.

Julian Knight is the chair and owner of Knight Enterprises. He also leads a secret life as a powerful witch.

1. Julian, can you tell us a bit about yourself?

I’m chair and owner of Knight Enterprises, Inc., a diversified multinational conglomerate in which I inherited from my parents. That I suppose is common knowledge. What most do not know is that I’m also a Ward of the Iron Circle, which is to say a Mage who protects the welfare of witches and protects humans from witch wrong doing.

2. Some people call you Lord Julian. Why is that? Are you like a top-level witch or is that warlock?

It sounds pretentious, doesn’t it? Lord and Lady are the titles given to Ward Witches. And yes, being a Ward is pretty much the top of the food chain. Magically speaking, we are the most powerful.
As for the word Warlock, it is a derogatory term to witches in general. It is what we call a Witch or Ward who has gone bad, very bad, summoning demons, manipulating people, that sort of thing. They are one of the many things I fight to protect against.

3. Oh…I’ll keep that in mind. On another note, how powerful is your wand? I mean, what can you tell us about your powers?

*coughs* They’re hot. Seriously, I’m not being cocky. Fire is my greatest power. There is more to it than that, of course, but I can’t give away all my trade secrets.

4. There are some bad people out there after you and the people you care about. Why is that?

When you have something special or others don’t understand, there will always be those who either want to take it from you for themselves, see you fall or feel threatened and want to destroy you.

5. You’re very gentle and loving with your sister Jen, a contrast to how ruthless you can be with your enemies. How do you balance that?

I’m sure my sister would argue with you on that point. And do I balance it? I don’t know. It is more of a switch you turn on and off rather than a balancing act. Things are black and white for me. You hurt the ones I love and you will get hurt. You step too close to the flame, you will get burnt. It’s that simple.

6. I know you’re trying really hard to keep it a secret but…rumor has it that you got your powers in a wad for a human named Beth Queen.

Ah well, the rabbit is already out of the hat on that, isn’t it? Between my High Priestess and the Oracle, it’s hard keeping secrets and I’m sure everyone’s heard about it by now.

7. She’s not your usual kind of girl. Tell us some more about her. What attracts you to her? You know so we can copy her…err…I mean revere and admire her!

You’re right, she’s not your usual kind of girl, she’s . . . she’s exquisite. Loyal to her friends and family, she has this naïveté, not in an ignorant way, but in a pure way that is endearing, very quirky and fun and has a knack for melting away walls you worked hard to put up. It doesn’t hurt that she has legs that won’t stop and a thing for boots. Those goddamn boots, let’s just say I find them extremely attractive.

8.Speaking of our lovely human girl, have you told her how you feel about her?

Oh yes, Miss Queen is very aware of my feelings for her.

9. If you could take Beth anywhere for Valentine’s Day, where would you take her? What would gift would you give her?

The great thing is, is that I can take Elizabeth anywhere, so I’m checking off the number one thing on her bucket list and taking her to the Louvre in Paris to see one of her favorite Canova sculptures Psyche Revived by Cupid’s Kiss. I’m also having it replicated in bronze for the entrance to our gardens.

10. Oh wow…I’m speechless. Deep breaths. What does an all-powerful being like you wear to bed? I’m asking for a friend.

Hmm. Friend? Well, I’ll tell you, because it isn’t all that exciting. Drawstring pants. The plain old cotton kind.

I think my “friend” can do a lot with that with that…information!

About Shadow Leitner

Shadow Leitner is a wonderfully talented author and artist who I am proud to call my friend. She writes books about imaginary people in imaginary places then tortures them with love and other peculiar things. She does this from Frederick, Maryland, where she lives with her husband, two children and a devious black cat called Lulu. Shadow also creates art on her iPhone, reads a lot, consumes absurd amounts of coffee and doesn’t sleep much but dreams plenty.
